My Spring/Summer Picks

Its coming...soon.  Spring and Summer.  This means no more boots, no more socks and tons of cute and sexy shoes.  I heart shoes.  As well as lightweight fabrics and not having to constantly drag a coat around.  Not to mention, that gross salt that gets all over everything, like your car - and my floor here in the shop!  UGH!  Ive never washed a floor so many times in one week!!

I never considered myself a fashionista in any way, but I know how to put things together that work well.  At least I think so.  I checked out a few fashion magazines, which I rarely do, and saw that there is going to be a HUGE trend in PRINTS!!  I adore prints, of every kind.  Check out Harpers Bazaar's Spring 2011 Trends and all of the amazing prints that were on the runway!  Not only that, but people are MIXING prints.  This is awesome!  I love the unconventional trend that is starting.  Not everything is matchy/matchy and sterile looking. Have a gander at a few examples:

Another look I am very excited to see coming is Lingerie as Daywear!  I was that girl, back in high school, that wore old slips as dresses, paired with a great pair of boots and a denim jacket with lots and lots of pearls!  I have to say, this is my favorite trend!  And Im not a trendy person at all!  Take a peek of these runway looks:

New Artwork in the Shop!

I am truly blessed to have been able to get such talented artists showing their work in Concetta's Closet.  I am a firm believer that having art (all types) in your life makes you a better person, all around :)

Calling all Photographers, Models and Stylists!

First and foremost, Happy New Year!  What an amazing year 2010 was.. lots of new things happened for me and Concetta's Closet - most of which were amazing!  Thank you to everyone who was a part of the great success!

Ok, second - My apologies for being absent for so long from the blog.  One of my new year resolutions was to keep on top of my little projects and one of them was my BLOG!  Keep reminding me if I slack people!

And now, for what this blog was written for:  I have a project in the works (well, it WILL be int he works soon!) - and I need photographers, models and stylists. 

Here are some details:

Photographers:  This work will be pro-bono, but full photo credits, will be given, as well as blog mention and all info for articles.  This is going to be a quite a production, and I will be a part of everything, so dont think youll be left in the dust with all of the work.  Ill be included in the editing as well.  Details will be given out as I speak with each interested photographer.  I will be making a decision by the end of this month as to which photog I will be working with. 

Models:  I will obviously give my original CC models preferrential treatment as they have dedicated so much time to me in the past, but I am also looking for NEW models, girls with unique looks, of all shapes and sizes.  You must be confident, professional (no experience is necessary), be comfortable in front of a camera and easy to work with.  No primadonnas, please :)  There is no compensation for this gig, but you will be quite happy with the outcome, for sure!

Stylists:  This goes for anyone with an art background.  I would prefer someone with an interest in fashion, style, design and an overall great personal sense of fashion and style.  Especially vinage :)

All selected applicants must be available for monthly meetings to discuss the project and should be accessible to the Seacoast area of NH.  Meetings and Shoots will be held days and nights and will be furnished with food and appropriate beverages :)

Meet the Concetta's Closet Models!

First off, Im super sorry I havent blogged lately.  As most of you may already know, I opened up my own real live SHOP!  Located in the quaint little indie town of Newmarket New Hampshire - my first month was a great success!  I totally surpassed my expectations! 

Now onto the MODELS!
We have a long time core group of ladies that have been truly amazing and given so much of their time, energy and love to showing off the clothing.  I am forever indebted and will hold these girls very dear to me!  Im lucky to call these girls my friends.  Here is a little rundown of the girls and a few words about each of them:

Angela is like Audrey Hepburn.  She is so poised and elegant.  She can wear anything, but looks best in pretty florals and soft colors.  But dont let those soft looks fool you - she can rock a hot black mini dress well!  She is like little sister to me!

 Nermina is a Bosnian Bombshell!  She has natural beauty/girl next door looks, but also has a wild side!  This lady will show her many sides given the opportunity.  Ive seen such a transformation with her photos - and Im so glad to have her as a friend and partner in crime (ie barhopping!)

Rachel adds a bit of edge to Concetta's Closet.  With her bright blonde (now brown) hair and exotic Italian looks, she wears many of our 80s outfits well.  She's the youngest of the models, but sure is one smart broad!  An anthropology major at UNH, this girl has a bright future in front of her!

Caitlin is no longer an active model for Concetta's Closet, but will always be a part of the team.  She has recently moved to Florida and has kept pursuing a career in high fashion modeling.  Recently, she had a photoshoot with a great photographer and I supplied some vintage lingerie.  Watch out for this girl - she will surely be gracing the cover of Vogue soon! (photo below is from her most recent shoot!)

Christina is a free spirit.  She has a great sense of humor, long legs and a great smile.  Sweet as pie with model good looks.  She has graced the pages of International fashion magazines and manages a high end fashion boutique.  Another great friend I love spending time with, especially over a glass of wine :)

 And Ill add a newbie to the mix, because she is so dedicated!

Catherine is a total dreamboat.  She can pull off a 40s/50s look like no ones business!  With curves in all the right places and a killer sense of humor - its a real pleasure working with her!
